“Where there is essential oil, there is goodness.

Where there is goodness, there is magic.”

What is an essential oil?

Well, the dictionary says…

“An essential oil is a natural oil typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic aroma of the plant or another source from which it was extracted". To simplify it even further, an essential oil is a highly concentrated oil extracted from plants.

Why am I so passionate about using essential oils? Well, besides the fact they smell sooo good…

  1. They are so versatile. Eg. your lemon essential oil is not only a heavy duty de-greaser, but adding 1 drop to your facial cleanser can brighten your skin.

  2. Save Money. There are 250 drops of oil in a 15 ml bottle. A bottle of lemon should cost approximately $12. A typical diy all purpose cleaner, (a little dish soap, your essential oil and some water), has 20-30 drops in it. The total cost of the oils used is $1.50. It is a myth that all oils are expensive. Yes, some of the more precious ones are, but you will not typically use those on a regular basis.

  3. They help reduce the toxic chemical load on our immune systems. When we slowly switch out some of our most commonly used bath, home and body products, we will lessen the burden on our immune systems.

  4. Save time. Once we have a basic collection of oils, we will be able to make many of our own cleaning, bath and body products in minutes, therefore saving unnecessary trips to the store.
