I tend to make this recipe for parties or during gatherings at Christmas and Thanksgiving. If you start the process early in the morning, by later in the day your house will be filled with a spicy, sweet aroma.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Fill your pot about 3/4's full of filtered water.
  2. Add in all of your spices. You can wrap them in cheesecloth but I add them straight into the post loose.
  3. Bring to a boil and then reduce your heat so it simmers.
  4. Simmer for 1-2 hours.
  5. Add in your black tea.
  6. Simmer for another 1-2 hours (longer the better).
  7. Strain the spices and tea. Add your tea back into the pot and keep at a low heat.
  8. Serve with whole milk or oat barista milk. We like to froth the milk and add it.
  9. Depending on how spicy you like it, typically add half tea blend and half milk of your choice.
  10. Sweeten with honey or sugar to your liking!
