The yield of this recipe depends on the size of your molds. I make my lotion bars with mini cupcake molds, which makes about 4 bars.

Instructions

Steps
  1. Set up your double boiler and add about 1-2 inches of water to the pot.
  2. Turn the water on medium.
  3. Once the water begins to steam a bit, add the beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil to the Pyrex or glass measuring pitcher. Keep watch as the ingredients begin to melt. Stir occasionally.
  4. Once they are fully melted and there are no remnants of the beeswax, slowly pour in the calendula oil. Stir gently.
  5. Gently lift the glass Pyrex (or glass pitcher) from the pot. Wipe down the sides with a clean cloth, (so water doesn't drip into your molds).
  6. Place Pyrex on a cooling pad and add your oils.
  7. Pour your blend into the molds and cover with parchment paper to prevent anything from dripping into them.
  8. To remove lotion bars, gently push the bottom of the mold to individually pop them out.

Diy beauty note:

Silicone molds are the very best to use. You can find them at places like Michaels or the Bulk Barn. I have often come across seasonal molds at Homesense as well!

And if you shop Amazon, I found the cutest leaf/autumn molds HERE.

Depending on the carrier oils you have, you can also swap the oils.

For example, avocado oil instead of calendula infused olive oil.

Sweet almond works beautifully as well.

And if you don't have those oils on hand, olive oil from your pantry would work perfectly.
