Vanilla Mint Lip Balm
Yield: 3, 1 oz lip balm tins
This recipe is for the small tins you can buy off Amazon, but it also works for lip balm tubes, I am just not sure how many you would need.
Ingredients
Supplies needed
Instructions
- In a double boiler (or I use a glass pyrex with the handle over the side of a larger pot), fill the pot with 1-2 inches of water. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Add the beeswax first. Melt fully.
- Add your coconut oil. Melt and stir together (I use a chopstick).
- Remove the Pyrex from the stove once melted. Wipe down the sides of the Pyrex (you don't want any water getting into your tins), and then let the wax and coconut oil cool slightly.
- Add your essential oils. Blend together. Place the lids on right away. Let cool.
- Add a small label on the top with your ingredients, (I use Avery.ca for labels and printing).
Notes
If you would like to try other blends, here are some suggestions:
Soothing, calming blend: 20 drops Lavender, 5 drops Roman Chamomile and 10 drops Copaiba.
Uplifting and sweet: 10 drops Lemon, 10 drops Wild Orange, 10 drops Ylang Ylang and 10 drops Madagascar Vanilla. ***be cautious using citrus oils on your lips and going out into the sun, however. Cold pressed citrus oils are photosensitive.
Fruity and joyful: 20 drops Bergamot and 20 drops Grapefruit.
Energizing: 20 drops Lime and 20 drops Spearmint.
